Random things

Last week Jeff flew out to Texas to meet the people that he has been working with for 16 months. The company is based out of Texas but he has been working from home in California. He will be flying out from time to time.

Lily started playing 'chase'. It is so funny! She claps, waves sometimes, crawls everywhere, pulls herself up, and cruises all over from furniture piece to furniture piece.

I haven't been posting my savings, but I have been saving money all over the place. I have been so busy trying to unpack, clean the place, and get organized. My computer died and I lost the pictures of Lily's first 10 days of life. LUCKILY, I had uploaded those photos onto Shutterfly and I ordered a disk of them so I still have those photos. Because of this, I am getting all my pictures organized and I am going to put them all on disk and have prints made.

Onto my savings!

Refrigerator savings: $249.90
Delivery refund: $79
Washer savings: $259.90
Dryer savings: $246.90
Pedestals savings: $101.78
Delivery refund: $65.00
Water company rebate: $335.00
Electric company rebate: $85.00
Computer saving: $40.00

Total savings: $1,462.48

The majority of these savings are because of coupons, not store sales. Can you image paying full price? I have saved on other everyday purchases but I haven't been keeping track. I will get back into reporting my savings amount. I know Rebecca has started using coupons and is getting into saving money too. I hope others out there that read this blog start to do the same thing. In times like these we need to all be out of debt and live BELOW our means.

Lily didn't get enough votes yesterday to win for the day. :(

I entered her again so if you wanted to vote you can vote here: http://www.whattoexpect.com/photo-contest/vote.aspx?contestId=6

This is what her picture looks like:

Her name says Lily Metcalf today so it will be easier for you to find her. There are only 188 photos today.

Thanks!

Some photos of Lily

Thanks Amy and Kat for the information about uploading the photos. I will try them and see if it helps.

Here are a few recent photos of Lily.

Such a doll

She stole a french fry! She must be my daughter!

A corner protector, or a teething toy?

Rock on

Video of Lily

Here is a video of Lily eating. Every since she started eating solids at 6 months, she always says 'yum'.

Kris, is this the same sound that Jeff would make when he would eat?

Enjoy!

Vote for Lily

I entered Lily into a photo contest. I know what a shocker that I would do something like that! Today is the only day you can vote for her.

Click the link: http://www.whattoexpect.com/photo-contest/vote.aspx?contestId=6and look for Lily. There are 270 photos and they show 20 at a time so if you have to go through all of them, you will only have to go through 14 pages. The pictures show up differently every time so I can't direct you to her picture. You don't have to worry about signing up with anything, just click to vote for her.

Look for this photo of Lily to vote.

But be careful, there are other Lily's on the site, so make sure you vote for our Lily!

Thanks so much for doing this.

Photos

We are still unpacking and have donated so much stuff, but we still have so much to go through. I wish it was done!

We got all of our appliances installed and I had to call Jackie to ask how to use the washer and dryer! How complicated can it be, right? It makes lots of cool sounds and lights up, and I LOVE them.

Jeff got my new computer set up and I finally downloaded the photos off my camera. I LOVE my new computer and monitor. I have really bad eye sight, so I got a bigger monitor and it works wonders.

I am having problems with uploading photos onto blogger. They seem to go all over the place. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how do I fix it?

Over on the right hand side of the site is a section for Lily's followers if you follow the blog. Feel free to "follow" the blog and let others, and me know that you follow!

Since I can't put captions under the photos I will try to explain some of them.

Lily is helping Jeff pack in our old kitchen and she is playing in her baby wipes box.

Lily is standing up under my desk trying to get into her diapers box. No, she does not wear a size 5 yet. She is still in size 1-2.

Lily with our house keeper, Angela, from Alameda. She was with us for 18 months and she was the best! We will miss her so much!

Lily is sitting in a clog in Solvang, Ca. I had a picture of me sitting in a clog from Solvang when I was little.

A picture of me with an Obama cookie. Since Senator Clinton is out of the picture Obama it is!

Pictures of Jeff and Lily.

Lily being super cute in her dress hanging out in my office chair.

Here are the photos: Enjoy!

Living out of a suitcase no more!

We are not fully unpacked, but then again does anybody really fully unpack? Jeff has set up our office; it looks really good. He still has some things to finish but his computer is up and running.

My computer died on this trip so tomorrow we are going to Best Buy to get me a new one. It will be nice to start off fresh with a new system. I am so unorganized when it comes to my computer. I have lots of folders titled pictures, pictures with Lily, pictures Metcalf, etc....... Hopefully I will only have one directory for pictures! Wish me luck!

Today we bought our washer and dryer. The ones we wanted didn't have matching colors so I was bummed about that. We ended up getting the new LG ones that aren't even out on display yet. We should get those delivered on Sunday. I never thought I would be looking forward to doing laundry.

We have been dealing okay without having a refrigerator. I am craving home cooked food. I just want fruits and vegetables. Thursday will be here before I know it.

Jeff put Lily's crib together today and she was able to take her nap in it and she is sleeping in there right now. She has her very own room just like every kid should have. This will be the first night she isn't in our room. I know how bad that is, but I never felt ready to leave her.

Lily is such a crack up. The other day she tried playing with her foot. She would pick it up but then it would drop, then she would try it again. One day she will know that her foot is attached to her body! Lily crawls all over and lifts herself up with no problems. She is starting to cruise along the couch and coffee table. She has the cutest voice! It is a high pitched sound and she says Dada and gaga. She is always making us laugh!

Thank you all for the well wishes on the move!

As soon as I get my new computer setup I will upload some photos of Lily.

We made it

We arrived Saturday afternoon. Even though we broke up the trip in three days and two nights, we still felt so bad for Lily being stuck in her car seat for so long. She did a lot of sleeping and playing but she did have her moments where she would cry. :( Hopefully we never have to put her through that again!

Our stuff will arrive bright and early on Monday morning. It will be nice to get our stuff! Luckily Jeff was smart and packed the air mattress and the computers!

Yesterday we bought our refrigerator but it wont be delivered until Thursday! This will be an interesting 5 days!

We live so close to everything! We use to have to drive 20 minutes to get to Babies r us and Target, but now we have all those things plus so much more right in our back yard!!

We have a two car garage and it is so strange because a lot of people don't use their garage for their cars. They park on the side of the street. Where we come from a garage is everything, so we are so happy about having one and we will use it for cars!

Well we have lots to do, but once we get somewhat settled I will post pictures of Lily.

We're homeless!

We have left Alameda and are hanging out at the Hyatt in Monterey. (Don't stay here if you are ever in the area) We leave tomorrow for Solvang and will stay there while Jeff eats lots of pastries! We will have a home again on Saturday afternoon. This will be a nice little trip to our new home in Irvine. We can't imagine having Lily stuck in a car seat all day long for the long journey, so this works out perfect!

We are tired. Good night. Photos to follow later.
