A Trip to the E.R.

In one week Lily will be 1 years old. It is so amazing to see her grow and turn into a little girl. Since I use to be a nanny I know how fast it goes and I use this time to enjoy every minute I can.

She loves walking around our table. She laughs while walking around it. Maybe she thinks she is doing something really cool or maybe just sneaky! She has such a great personality and laughs most of the time! We are so lucky to have her!

Thursday I ended up going to the E.R. for myself. I had been having chest pain when I would breathe in. It felt like a "catch" and I had had those before, so wasn't worried. It went away after a few hours. It came back Wednesday afternoon and it was getting worse and the location of the pain was moving. I really dislike doctors, hospitals, etc... so I never go unless I really have to. I woke up Thursday morning still in pain, and so I thought if it was still hurting after Lily woke up from her morning nap, I would go to Urgent Care. I ended up calling the nurses line to see what they thought, and they told me to go to the E.R. I was bummed! The last thing I wanted to do was sit in the E.R. all day long with sick people. I was told by the nurse to say I was having chest pain. I was seen pretty fast. I felt really bad because there were people in the waiting room who were moaning with such pain. I got my room and the doctor came in asked some more questions and said it might be a PE. (pulmonary embolism) This scared Jeff and I. They had to do blood work, and insert an I.V. The doctor said that the needle was big and it was going to hurt! I was so scared! I hate needles!! The nurse came in and I thought he was drawing my blood but he was inserting the I.V. It hurt but nothing like I thought it would!

We had to wait for the blood work to come back to make sure my kidneys were fine before they gave me the dye for the CT scan. Lily was good for the most part. We felt bad that she couldn't play with anything. Jeff had to take her out from time to time to get her outside to play.

My blood work came back fine and they took me to get a CT scan. I have never had one before and for some reason I was so scared. It was painful for me because I had to have my hands above my head and that hurt my chest. That was done pretty fast and then I waited in the halls for someone to come and push me back to my room.

By the time I got back to my room I was in so much pain that I had asked for the pain medication that I had refused earlier. They gave me a huge amount of Morphine, and it was so painful going in, that I asked the nurse if he could stop. He explained that the first couple of minutes is always the hardest but after that I would be feeling good. He was right!

Soon after the doctor came in and said "Good news, it's not a P.E." I ended up having Pleurisy. This is so painful and now I know why they gave me morphine and vicodin! It feels like somebody stabbed my in the chest! It hurts to breathe, talk, laugh, move, etc......

I am finally starting to feel better. I slept all day today and only had to take vicodin once this morning.

We are so thankful that it was only Pleurisy and not a P.E.

I had my doctors appointment with my Hematologist yesterday and I got good news! He thinks that my other Hematologist is more conservative with his medical methods and doesn't think I need to have shots for long drives, or plane trips!! He says to just stop every hour and walk around and move around the plane! We were so happy to hear that!!

Playing upstairs
Let me out!

Wants to get into our bedroom. Plus I need to go shopping for more clothes, look at how short her pants are!
Waiting patiently in the hospital room
Helping me feel better
She has the BEST faces!!
